My shooting life began at a very young age on our family owned horse farm. Chasing pigeons out of our indoor riding arena with a 20 gauge shotgun, or if that wasn't fun enough, shooting the Pepsi cans with a 22. As i began to get older with my father having a Carry Concealed Permit my interest with hand guns began to evolve. I applied for my pistol permit in January of 2015. Living in Onondaga County it was restricted to Sportsman only. This of course wasn't good enough so I reciprocated with a letter back to the Judge and was fortunately granted a license with no restrictions. It was at this point in time that I figured if I was going to be allowed to carry, that I should know how to do it efficiently and safely. This is when I found Rochester Personal Defense. I took the Concealed Carry One class with Lew and Chris. This was the biggest eye opener for me. Coming in as a 25 year old kid, shooting since I was young enough to walk, I thought what can there possibly be to learn? BOY WAS I WRONG! Chris and Lew were on me from the minute I walked into the class. After falling in love with personal protection with a hand gun I then took the second series of the class. This is when I decided that I wanted to take the next step and help teach those who have or had a similar attitudes that I did when I walked in to my first class. I'm a true believer that if you want to take that next step and carry concealed, you should take classes like I chose to in order to make sure your safety, and efficiency are at a level sufficient enough to carry. You are carrying something that could possibly save your life, your families life, or a friends life at a critical moment in time.
If your going to use something that can save your life, your families lives, your friends lives from someone who doesn't value it the same way you do, You should be able to act proficiently and safely enough to do so.
