InSights Classes

The following courses will be held in the Rochester area.
General Defensive Shotgun
June 27-28, 2009
Genesee Conservation League
The intent of this course is to teach the student the use of the shotgun in close-range, high-speed scenarios as encountered in self-defense and hunting situations. The emphasis of the course will be on the rapid employment of the shotgun while maximizing the use of cover.
Ground Fighting
July 31, 2009
Genesee Conservation League
This one day course will give you the ability to stun and disable an attacker in a grappling situation and escape to safety. The popularity of grappling arts combined with the fact that many attacks result in a grappling situation means that every self defense practitioner should have the tools to neutralize and escape from these holds.
Defense Against Weapons
August 1-2, 2009
Genesee Conservation League
This is the course that will take your unarmed self-defense skills to the next level: defending against the armed attacker. Since we must expect that most victimizers will be armed, this set of skills is the logical follow-up to Unarmed Self Defense Level I. This one-day course will build on previously taught material and give the student the ability to stun or disable a weapon-armed attacker and escape to safety.
General Defensive Handgun
Sept. 12-13, 2009
Genesee Conservation League
The intent of the course is to teach the student to use their handgun safely, quickly and reflexively as is required in close-range high-speed defensive situations and to understand the legal responsibilities of its use.
This course should be considered a minimum for anyone who owns or is considering
carrying a handgun for self-defense. More

Close Quarters Confrontations
October 10-12, 2009
Genesee Conservation League
You will learn a full unarmed combat system and an integrated firearms combat system. The course can be physically demanding depending on how hard you try, but everyone should come regardless of age or physical condition. You will only be asked to do what you can. The course will make extensive use of striking bags and protective padded suits and you will be striking "opponents" with everything you have in combat simulations.
