No one should be without the knowledge, skills, and attitude that it takes to safely own a handgun. The National Rifle Association's Basic Pistol course is designed for those of you who want to start learning how to shoot. There is no need for any prior experience to participate, although more experienced shooters have taken the class and ended up learning some very valuable skills.

This course is taught by competent, fully certified, experienced instructors who love their work. They all know the importance of starting out right; and they all want to help you build a solid foundation so that you will be able to fully enjoy the shooting sports for a long time.

THIS COURSE CAN BE USED TO APPLY FOR A FLORIDA NON RESIDENT PERMIT

Subjects Covered:

Safety
Operation of both Revolvers and Semi-automatic handguns
Ammunition types and components
Safe storage of handguns
Cleaning and maintenance
Shooting Fundamentals

This is a basic fundamental shooting class. You do not need a holster for this class.

Required Equipment:

For this class, you will need the following items:

A valid New York State Pistol Permit
A working and reliable firearm -UNLOADED AND CASED.
Do not bring your gun in a holster. It must be in a case.
50 rounds of ammunition - DO NOT BRING AMMUNITION INTO THE CLASSROOM OR FACILITY. PLEASE LEAVE IT IN YOUR VEHICLE
Eye and ear protection
Weather-appropriate clothing and footwear
A cleaning kit
A notebook and pen
Water and quiet snacks
