You asked for it and here it is!!! The followup to the DPS 101 class:

In Defensive Pistol Skills 201, you will build on the skills and theories from DPS 101 and then move on to more fluid, reactive, and reflexive instruction. Carrying a firearm in public is difficult enough. This class will show you how you can be discreet but ready to defend yourself.

Subjects Covered:

The classroom theory portion will cover:

Review of Article 35

Target threat assessment

Multiple aggressor engagement

Lethal force to non-lethal force transitions

Drawing from concealment clothing

Covert/discreet presentation of the firearm

Tactical movement and gun-handling skills

One-handed shooting/reloading/malfunction clearing

Point blank/defensive engagement (3' or less)

PIE'ing and use of cover

On the range, you will review reloads, malfunction clearing and movement, and then you will move on to:

Presenting from concealment

Presenting/engaging at point blank range (close quarters draw)

PIE'ing, cornering, and 'rolling out' from cover

Movement away or to cover

One-handed shooting/reloading/malfunction clearing

Multiple target engagement

Required Equipment:

Eye and ear protection; a working and reliable firearm; Minimum 300 rounds of ammunition; 3 magazines or speedloaders (minimum) with carry pouches; a quality, strong-side holster; and a sturdy belt. Weather-appropriate clothing is a must.

Prerequisites:

You must attend DPS 101 before taking this class. If you have comparable training experience, call us before signing up to see if you can qualify.
