Intermediate Self Defense (SD 201)

Upon completion of the Basic Self Defense class, you will have a short review of, and expand on: body language, non-verbal communication, pre-attack indicators, and the skills learned in Level 1. You will also expand on your "Target Selection," avoidance techniques and building your "Winning Mindset". Verbalization will be reinforced as well.

Subjects Covered:

You will learn to counter more types of attacks:

Differing punches

Review and expand on attacks from front and the rear: Chokes, punches, bear hugs, full nelsons, etc.

Introduction to ground fighting skills

Skills to deal with the Bad Guy's "inside weaknesses" during punches, stick or bat swinging, etc

During this class, you will learn how the various attacks can vary, and what to do to be able to react faster. You will be able to practice at a slow speed with a training partner and see how each skill works.

Required Equipment:

Comfortable clothing (jeans or sweats), T-shirt or sweatshirt, and sneakers.

No high heels, sandals, flip flops, or hard-soled shoes.

You will be working in close proximity with others, so good grooming and approriate clothing is a necessity.

Prerequisites:

This class is on the middle level of being physically demanding. If you have any questions about pre-existing injuries or limitations, please contact us before registering.
